shrewShrew's Nest (Musarañas), currently in post-production, is a black fable directed by Juanfer Andrés and Esteban Roel whose official trailer with English subtitles is available today. The screenplay was handled by Andrés himself together with Sofía Cuenca, while in the cast we find important names such as Macarena Gómez (the unforgettable Uxía Cambarro in Dagon) and Luis Tosar, the creepy protagonist of Bed Time (Mientras duermes). They are joined by Nadia de Santiago, Carolina Bang (Ballad of Hate and Love) and Hugo Silva, the latter two both seen in Álex de la Iglesia's Witching & Bitching, who by the way is the producer of Shrew's Nest.

Shrew's Nest takes us back to 1950s Madrid. Montse (Macarena Gómez) is a woman who has seen her youth fade because she has been forced to care for her younger sister (Nadia de Santiago), pinning her hopes on religion. Her mother died giving birth to the baby while her father left home because he was unable to handle the situation. Unlike her sister, Montse is agoraphobic. She has never left that apartment inside which her psychotic disorders are not slow to manifest themselves. When Carlos (Hugo Silva), the neighbor, falls down the flight of stairs, she is forced to render him aid and drag him into her apartment.

Below is the interesting trailer for Shrew's Nest in which the relationship between the two sisters is vaguely reminiscent of that between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in “What Happened to Baby Jane?” but also “Misery Must Not Die” for the situation that arises with the arrival of the unexpected guest.
