According to Variety, Netflix is developing a sequel to Under Paris (2024), the French shark movie directed by Xavier Gens, (known for his horror films Frontiers, Crucifixion and Cold Skin), with director and actors Bérénice Bejo and Nassim Lyes set to return.
In a recent interview, Bérénice Bejo claimed the sequel will start filming in September 2025.
Instead, Gens revealed to Variety that the sequel's story will take place in a Paris entirely submerged under water.
Plot of Under Paris (2024): Paris. Summer 2024. The capital hosts the World Triathlon Championships on the Seine. Sophia, a brilliant scientist, learns from Mika, a young environmental activist, that a large shark is swimming in the depths of the river. To avoid a bloodbath at the heart of the city, Sophia and Mika have no choice but to join forces with Adil, the Seine river police commander.
