Septic man (Canada - 2013), the independent horror film directed by Jesse Thomas Cook (Monster Brawl) and directed by the director himself together with John Geddes, will be released this summer thanks to Starz Digital Media. In fact, both on-demand and download versions will be available on August 12, while the DVD release is scheduled for August 19. In addition, on the 15th of the same month Septic Man will be distributed on a limited basis in American movie theaters.
Recall among other things that director Jesse Thomas Cook himself appears as producer and actor in Exit Humanity.
The screenplay of Septic Man is edited by Tony Burgess (Pontypool), the cast instead includes Jason David Brown (Antisocial, Exit Humanity, Monster Brawl), Molly Dunsworth (Hobo with a Shotgun), Tim Burd (Saw II, III and V), Robert Maillet, Stephen McHattie (Children of Cold Rock, Exit Humanity) and Julian Richings (Survival of the dead, Saw IV, Wrong Turn).
The protagonist of the story is Jack (Jason David Brown), a worker who is called to work on his city's urban sewage plant to discover the cause of water contamination. However, the man becomes trapped there, and contact with the toxic and highly dangerous substances in the facility will turn him into a monstrous being in constant metamorphosis.
In 2013 Septic Man debuted at Fantastic Fest and then screened at other festivals including Toronto After Dark where it received an award.
