In September, as many as five horror films will be shown in Italian theaters, some of which are not to be missed. As already anticipated in the past months, the September 7 will make its cinema debut, thanks to Midnight Factory, The Devil's Candy, l'horror sul pittore metallaro ispirato dal male.
The 14 Instead, the world premiere will be presented Leatherface, the prequel to Don't open that door (directed in 1974 by the late Tobe Hooper). The September 28 Finally, the following will be screened Jukai - La foresta dei suicidi (il film ispirato ai suicidi avvenuti in una foresta situata in Giappone) e l'horror psicologico mother!.
Instead, the release date of The Void - The Void, an old-style body horror wrapped in Lovecraftian/Carpenterian atmospheres and whose release date was set at September 21.

The Devil's Candy (USA - 2015) marks the return to direction of Sean Byrne, the director of the remarkable The Loved Ones (2009), who also edited the screenplay.

On September 14, M2 Pictures brings to theaters. Leatherface, il prequel che fa luce sulle origini di "Faccia di cuoio", l'iconico personaggio del celebre franchise The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Leatherface is written by Seth M. Sherwood while the direction is by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo (Inside, Livid).
Texas. The sheriff's daughter (Stephen Dorff) dies tragically in an accident. The cause of death does not convince the police, and suspicion falls on the Sawyers' minor son. The boy is committed to a mental hospital but ten years later kidnaps a nurse (Vanessa Grasse) and escapes from the facility with three other patients. Pursued by the authorities and the sheriff, the former inmate will, over time, turn into a ruthless killer.

September 21, the old-style body horror The Void - The Void (Canada - 2016) approda nelle sale italiane grazie a 102 Distribution. Il film è scritto e diretto da Jeremy Gillespie (Inferno of the Dead, Father's Day) and by Steven Kostanski (segment "W is for Wish" in ABCs of Death 2) and enjoys successful special effects and evocative Carpenterian and Lovecraftian atmospheres.
In The Void - The Void, police officer Daniel Carter (Aaron Poole) finds a bloodstained man on the street and promptly leads him to the hospital. In the hospital facility, however, almost all the patients and staff are mutating into something horrible. Carter will attempt to get to safety along with the few survivors by delving into the bowels of the hospital where he will face a hellish journey in search of salvation.

L'horror psicologico mother! (aka mother!) will see the light of day in Italian theaters on Sept. 28 thanks to 20th Century Fox. The film is written and directed by Darren Aranofsky, the director of Requiem for a Dream and de The black swan.
In mother!, Jennifer Lawrence (Hunger Games, Passengers) and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) play a couple living in an isolated house. One day, their relationship will be put to the test by the arrival of unexpected guests whose presence will turn their lives upside down forever.
Darren Aronofsky produced the film along with Scott Franklin and Ari Handel. Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domnhall Gleeson, Stephen McHattie and Kristen Wiig complete the cast.
