The story of the film features a young girl who finds comfort in her artist father and the ghost of her dead mother.
In the cast of Separation figurano Rupert Friend (Outlaw), Violet McGraw (Hill House), Mamie Gummer (The Ward - Il reparto), Madeline Brewer (Cam), Brian Cox (Autopsy), Simon Quarterman, Troy James e Manny Perez.
The screenplay, on the other hand, was written by Nick Amadeus in collaboration with Josh Braun, the producer of A History of Violence, The House of the Devil and Creep.
