Online, thanks to Briarcliff Entertainment, the poster and official trailer of Separation, the horror film directed by William Brent Bell, an American director known for directing Stay Alive, The Other Face of the Devil, The metamorphosis of evil and, more recently, the two chapters on the porcelain doll: The Boy and The Boy - The Curse of Brahms (2020).
Distributed by Open Road Films and Briarcliff Entertainment, Separation Will arrive in US theaters on April 30, 2021.
The film's story tells the terrifying aftermath of loss and features a young girl who finds comfort in her artist father and dead mother.
Plot: Jenny (Violet McGraw) is an eight-year-old girl who witnesses the frequent arguments between her lawyer mother, Maggie (Mamie Gummer), and her artist father Jeff (Rupert Friend). The little girl leads a lonely but imaginative life, surrounded by the "Grisly Kin," puppets inspired by characters from her father's works. When Maggie suddenly passes away, Jeff and Jenny try to build a new life for themselves.
As Maggie's father (Brian Cox) sues the man for custody of his granddaughter and babysitter Samantha (Madeline Brewer) tries to be the new woman of the house, their lives will take a turn for the worse. Jenny's puppets will come to life and the little girl will be the only one able to see them.
They are part of the cast of Separation: Rupert Friend (Outlaw), Violet McGraw (Hill House), Mamie Gummer (The Ward), Madeline Brewer (Cam), Brian Cox (Autopsy), Simon Quarterman, Manny Perez and Troy James. The latter is the contortionist who also appears in The Void - The Void, Hellboy (2019) e Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. In William Brent Bell's film, the actor performs a spider walk disguised as a diabolical clown puppet.
The screenplay of Separation was written by Nick Amadeus in collaboration with Josh Braun, the producer of A History of Violence, The House of the Devil and Creep.
