Slovenia's violent slasher movie Killbillies (aka Idyll, Idila) is Official Selection at The Optical Theatre Festival 2016. Directed by Tomaž Gorkič who, after a series of shorts shot between 2005 and 2014, makes his debut with this interesting feature in which idyllic Slovenian locations absorb atrocious suffering.
Killbillies is also the first horror genre film to be produced and shot entirely in Slovenia and is the winner of several awards including the Best Feature Award at the Weekend of Fear in Germany and the Slovenian Film Festival.
Plot: After an evening spent with girlfriends, Zina (Nina Ivanisin) meets photographer Blitcz (Sebastian Cavazza), manager Dragica (Manca Ogorevc), and squeamish model Mia (Nika Rozman) for a photo shoot in Slovenian nature. Upon arriving at the location they will make the unpleasant acquaintance of two inhospitable rednecks.
