The short film Creatures of Whitechapel (USA, UK - 2016) rientra fra le Selezioni Ufficiali del The Optical Theatre Festival 2016. Written and directed by Jonathan Martin, the film (25 minutes long) received five nominations: Best Short Film, Best Cinematography, Best Music, Best Actor (Barrett Ogden) and Best Supporting Actress (Carlee Baker).
In Creatures of Whitechapel relive some of the most important horror icons such as Jack the Ripper and Frankenstein. In addition, space is given in this Gothic love story to madness, creation but also the evil that lurks in all of us.
Trama: Jack lo Squartatore (Carlee Baker) setaccia le vie londinesi alla ricerca della vittima perfetta per aiutare il Dr. Frankenstein, suo maestro (Barrett Ogden), a dare la vita alla sua creatura perfetta. Ora l'assassina ha il compito di trovare l'ultimo pezzo affinché il folle esperimento del suo maestro venga portato a termine.
Jonathan Martin (An Evening with My Comatose Mother, Kiss the Devil in the Dark) edited the script while the film's screenplay is by his sister, Rebecca Martin.
The cast includes Carlee Baker, Barrett Ogden, Victoria Halloran, Jillian Joy, Rick Macy, Crystal Harris, Reeve Boyd, Chelsea Jurkiewicz and Maisa Kehl.
