Neve Campbell riprenderà l’iconico ruolo di Sidney Prescott in Scream 5, il nuovo capitolo del franchise che proseguirà la storia ideata da Wes Craven. L’attrice canadese reciterà al fianco di altri due attori principali della saga ovvero David Arquette e Courteney Cox, i quali reinterpreteranno rispettivamente il vice sceriffo Dewey Riley e la giornalista Gale Weathers.
Presente in tutti e quattro i film di Wes Craven, Neve Campbell si unisce ai membri del cast del quinto capitolo affiancando anche i nuovi membri del cast: Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Dylan Minnette e Mason Gooding.
Diretto da Matt Bettinelli-Olpin e Tyler Gillett, i registi di Ready or Not, Scream 5 is written by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) and Guy Busick (Till Death Do Us Part, Castle Rock).
Filming of the film is expected to begin by the end of 2020 in the city of Wilmington, North Carolina.
In the crew of Scream 5 Kevin Williamson, the franchise's longtime screenwriter, appears here as executive producer. William Sherak, James Vanderbilt and Paul Neinstein, on the other hand, are the film's producers along with Radio Silence, a trio consisting of Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villela.
Scream 5 will be released in 2021 through Paramount Pictures.
Directed by Wes Craven, Scream (1996) is the first film in the horror/slasher saga consisting of four chapters. It stars Sidney Prescott, a girl haunted by a psychopathic serial killer who wears a Halloween costume (Ghostface).
