Scream 7: release date announced for the new chapter in the saga

Neve Cambpell is back as the iconic Sydney Prescott in Scream 7, the seventh installment in the slasher horror saga started by Wes Craven and coming to U.S. theaters on Feb. 27, 2026.
This was announced by the actress herself who has returned to the cast after Melissa Barrera was fired.

Scream 7, currently untitled, will see Kevin Williamson, creator of the franchise and screenwriter of the first, second and fourth installments, in the directing booth.
The script instead will be by Guy Busick, the screenwriter of Scream 5 and Scream 6.
Courteney Cox will return as Gale Weathers, but she has not yet signed on.

According to Neve Campbell, the upcoming seventh installment will be a return to the saga's roots and the story will revolve around Sidney Prescott, that will be the central character in the film.
