Devilworks has acquired the worldwide rights to Scars of Xavier (movie review), the fierce German thriller/horror featuring Kai E. Bogatzki (the editor of Blood Feast - 2016), here in his first feature film. Devilworks will present Scars of Xavier at the European Film Market (EFM) of the Berlin Film Festival to be held Feb. 15-23.
The story's protagonist is Xavier (Marc Engel), an introverted and antisocial man in his 40s who works by day at a car wash in Prague while at night he gives vent to his criminal impulses. An encounter with Karolina (Alexia Von Wismar), a bartender he is attracted to, will trigger a strong inner struggle within him.
The cast includes Marc Engel, Alexia von Wismar, Jelly Francis Gaviria, Isabelle Aring, Angelina Markiefka, Dirk Sonnenschein, Daniele Rizzo (Stung), and Oliver Troska.
The photography of Scars of Xavier is by Lucas Blank and Philipp Peißen while the music is by Klaus Pfreundner. Magdalena Röhrig and Philipp Rathgeber, on the other hand, are the special makeup effects artists.
Scars of Xavier (Germany - 2017) is the triumphant film at the DarkVeins Horror Fest 2017 ("Best Feature Film" and "Best Special Effects") and also received the special award ("Special Mention") at the The Optical Theatre Film Festival 2017.
