In Scare Campaign la finzione cede il passo alla realtà e viceversa in un gioco che, con l'evolversi della storia, diventa sempre più pericoloso.
The show "Scare Campaign" has become popular thanks to a mix of scares and hidden cameras. To boost viewership, the crew plans a horror prank inside an abandoned asylum, creating the perfect atmosphere of terror. The consequences of the plan will be atrocious when, now too late, the crew realizes that the intended victim is the wrong one.
Lo scherzo messo in atto dalla troupe infatti sfugge di mano e innesca una serie di situazioni che sfociano nell'orrore. La vittima che si tramuta in carnefice incarna altresì la pedina mossa da un piano diabolico il cui scopo è di fornire al pubblico la morte in diretta. Scare Campaign riesce continuamente a sorprendere lo spettatore ribaltando il ruolo dei personaggi chiave e inserendo all'interno della storia nuovi, inaspettati e spietati protagonisti. Purtroppo il film dei fratelli Cairnes, seppur dotato di buone idee e di affascinanti killer mascherati, manca della giusta tensione. Scare Campaign in fact, it merely presents the audience with a dilapidated location that transforms into a distressing place where victims and perpetrators collide in a story that swerves between fake horror and real horror.
