In a message on Twitter, director Kevin Greutert (Saw VI, Saw 3D – The Final Chapter, Jackals) announced the end of filming for Saw X (2022), the tenth installment that sees Tobin Bell reprise his role as Jigsaw/John Kramer, the iconic character from the horror saga. Saw conceived by James Wan and Leigh Whannell.
The US release date has been set for October 27, 2023, just in time for Halloween.
The plot has not yet been revealed but the studio is convinced that the Saw 10 will know how to win the hearts of fans of the saga, thanks in part to additional twisted and ingenious traps, as well as a new mystery to solve.
In the cast of Saw X: Renata Vaca (Midnight Family), Paulette Hernandez (Crown of Tears), Joshua Okamoto (Control-Z) and Octavio Hinojosa (Come Play With Me), Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarok), Steven Brand (The Sandman), Michael Beach (Dahmer).
The screenplay, on the other hand, is by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, the screenwriters of Jigsaw and Spiral.
The new Saw was announced by Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures last August after Spiral - Saw's Legacy, the reboot directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV) and starring Chris Rock in 2021.
