In these hours, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures announced a new installment of the horror franchise Saw. The film will be the tenth in the saga after the recent Spiral - Saw's Legacy, the reboot directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV) and starring Chris Rock in 2021.
The new Saw will see Kevin Greutert (Jackals - The Jackal Cult), who previously directed Saw VI and Saw 3D - The Final Chapter, and will arrive in theaters on October 27, 2023.
The plot has not yet been revealed, but the studio is confident that the next chapter will win the hearts of fans of the saga (started by James Wan and Leigh Whannell in 2004 with Saw), thanks in part to other twisted and ingenious traps, as well as a new mystery to solve.
In fact, producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules said, "We listened to what the fans were asking for, and we are working hard to make a film that will satisfy not only fans of Saw but also horror fans in general. Not surprisingly, we entrusted the direction to Kevin Greturt, the director of Saw VI which is an absolute fan favorite chapter. More details soon."
