ischidados1Now online on Youtube the pilot episode of Ischidados - The Awakened, a web series set in Sardinia whose creators are looking for funds to continue in production. As can be seen by watching today's episode, the Italian island is already invaded by the living dead, namely the "ischidados" who by the way are not as slow as the Romerian or Fulcian zombies but quite fast, almost like the rabid infected of "28 Days Later." Appreciable are the special effects of the living dead hit in the head with a machete blow, after all, the Chunk group seems to be against the use of computer graphics and this can only gratify fans of old style horror cinema.

The protagonist of the story is Gaia who reaches Sardinia with her friends to spend a relaxing and fun vacation. The place, however, is a tangle of dangerous hungry zombies, but helping her will be a mamuthone armed with a machete.

Ischidados - The Awakened is the first project produced by Chunk Collective whose creative director, Igor De Luigi, is the creator. It was directed by Eugenio Villani.
Sardinia was chosen as the location not only because of its geographical particularity but also because of the myths, legends and traditions in which it is rich. Elements, these, reinterpreted in a horror key and that make Ischidados a very interesting web series in which the zombie figure is fused with Sardinian culture.

Of the episode, in fact, the "mamuthone," a famous figure typical of the Mamoiada carnival in Sardinia who wears a dark wooden mask and is covered with black sheep skins, while a series of cowbells are placed on his back, does not go unnoticed.
In Ischidados mamuthone's costume and mask were handmade by an artisan from Mamoiada.
