Il filone sugli evil dolls movie continua a crescere e questa volta nel mirino c'è un'altra nota bambola posseduta: Robert. Lo scorso anno si è parlato di Annabelle, la bambola maledetta legata a uno dei casi affrontati dai demonologi Ed e Lorraine Warren negli anni '70, e che è stata presentata non solo nelle sequenze iniziali de L'Evocazione (The Conjuring) ma che è diventata la protagonista assoluta dell'omonimo film del 2015 sempre diretto da James Wan. Annabelle è custodita nel museo dell'occulto dei coniugi Warren nel Connecticut.
The Robert doll (a kind of little sailor), which is currently in the East Martello Museum in Florida, is said to be possessed by spirits, to be cursed, and also is said to have inspired Chucky, the evil doll featured in the movie Chucky (Child's Play).
Fascinated by the mystery and terror generated by the puppet Robert is screenwriter and director Andrew Jones, who thought of writing and directing Robert (2015) to address the true story of the doll.
The director has behind him several horror films such as Poltergeist Activity, A Haunting at the Rectory, The Last House on Cemetery Lane and Valley of the Witch and is currently engaged in post-production of The Exorcism of Anna Ecklund.
The cast of Robert consists of Lee Bane, Megan Lockhurst, Suzie Frances Garton, Flynn Allen, Cyd Casados, Annie Davies and Judith Haley.

Ho appena visto il film su Robert the Doll ed è stato spettacolare! L'atmosfera cupa e inquietante mi ha tenuto col fiato sospeso dall'inizio alla fine. La trama è ben strutturata e le performance degli attori sono state eccezionali. I dettagli della scenografia e l'uso della musica hanno reso l'esperienza ancora più coinvolgente. Consiglio vivamente questo film a tutti gli amanti dell'horror! Grazie per aver creato un'opera così affascinante. CinemaHDV2
