According to reports from Deadline, Jeremy Irvine (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, War Horse) and Hannah Emily Anderson (Saw: Legacy) will star in Return to Silent Hill, the new film adaptation of the second installment of the famous survival horror video game saga produced by Konami.
Based on Silent Hill 2 and produced by Victor Hadida, Return to Silent Hill is a modern take on the Orpheus myth and will be directed by Christophe Gans, the director of the first film (2006).
Filming will start in April in Germany and Eastern Europe.
Plot: James Sunderland is a desperate man who enters Silent Hill in a desperate search for his beloved Mary Crane. The gloomy town, however, is no longer what he remembers, and the inhabitants try to get in his way. In the long run James will wonder if he is still in reality, or in a nightmare world created by Jacob Crane.
Return to Silent Hill is produced by Maze Pictures, Metropolitan, Davis Films, The Electric Shadow Company and Lotus Wallace.
