Sony Pictures has shared, online, a featurette of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (Germany, USA, Canada - 2021), the horror film featuring Johannes Roberts (47 Meters, The Strangers: Prey at Night) in the director's booth.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is the reboot of Resident Evil, an action-horror and science fiction film saga loosely based on the survival horror video game series of the same name.
The film will be released in Italian theaters on Nov. 25.
This new chapter marks a return to the origins of the famous video game saga while also staying true to the setting of the Capcom video games. The story is based on the events told by the first chapters of the video game series, focusing on the fateful night of 1998 in Raccoon City.
The film stars Kaya Scodelario (Crawl), Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy), Chad Rook, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap), Marina Mazepa, Neal McDonough and Donal Logue (Silent Night).
Plot: Raccoon City. What was once the headquarters of the pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation is now reduced to a decaying Midwestern town. The company's exodus has turned the city into a desolate place that harbors something extremely evil beneath the surface.
Awakened to evil, the citizens will undergo a terrible mutation, and a small group of survivors must join forces in order to uncover the truth behind the Umbrella Corporation and try to survive the night.
