The story of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is immediately related to the events of Resident Evil: Retribution. Alice è l'unica sopravvissuta della razza umana. L'eroina tornerà sul luogo dove tutto è iniziato ovvero a Raccoon City, una città americana sotto cui la Umbrella Corporation gestisce un complesso sotterraneo segreto di laboratori noto con il nome "alveare". Qui la multinazionale sta raccogliendo le proprie forze per un attacco finale.
In the film, Milla Jovovich is Alice again. Also reprising their roles will be Ali Larter, Iain Glen and Shawn Roberts who will be Claire Redfield, Dr. Isaacs and Albert Wesker, respectively.
The cast includes names new to the saga namely those of Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James, and Japanese model Rola.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be released in 2017 through Sony Screen Gems.
