Online the first image from the set featuring Nicolas Cage (Mandy, The Color Came from Space) as Count Dracula in Renfield, the new Universal film currently being filmed.
Directed by Chris McKay (Tomorrow's War), Renfield is a modern-day reinterpretation of the eponymous character featured in the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker and will debut in theaters on April 14, 2023.

The screenplay, on the other hand, is by Ryan Ridley (Rick and Morty) in collaboration with Robert Kirkman, the creator of the TV series The Walking Dead.
Plot: after centuries of subjugation, Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) has grown tired of being Dracula's (Nicolas Cage) lackey. The henchman will find a new lease on life and perhaps even redemption when he falls in love with Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina), a feisty, perpetually angry policewoman.
