There has long been talk of a new project by Maurizio Quarta, an Italian effects artist, director and actor who has been active in the world of underground cinema since the 1980s. After a prolonged absence from the film scene Maurizio Quarta finally returns to directing with a new film entitled Red vertigo for which he will also curate the special effects. This is a feature film in the horror thriller genre in which he will also be involved as an actor.
Red Vertigo is a film currently in pre-production, but at the same time the director is grappling with the "short" version of the aforementioned feature film, namely a short-medium film titled The house of the last breath whose script has just been completed. That project is described by Quarta himself as a "Ghost Version" of Red Vertigo.
The protagonist of a story that blends reality and the paranormal is a young woman (Ailise Roberts) who becomes trapped in a house where pounding memories make her relive an endless nightmare.
Confirmed actors for the time being include Maurizio Quarta himself (under the pseudonym Mike Hudson), Romanian model Ailise Roberts (pictured above left) who will star in the film, Kate Marku and part of the female cast of Anabolyzer by Roger Fratter. The film will be produced by Scare Movies Studios, a production company founded by Maurizio Quarta in 2002.
The trailer for Red Vertigo will be premiered on October 4 at the Splatter Holocaust Night Part 2: Inferno of Freaks.
