The wave of horror comedies from Oceania continues, and so, after Deathgasm From New Zealand, comes a new film, this time from Australia.
Me and My Friends vs. The Zombie Apocalypse, written and directed by Declan Shrubb, is shaping up to be yet another work about zombies with comic overtones, as so much in vogue in recent years. Suffice it to recall, in addition to the aforementioned by Jason Lei Howden, the recent Wyrmwood and Freaks of Nature, titles that mix high spirits with splatter scenes in the best tradition of Peter Jackson.
Me and My Friends vs. The Zombie Apocalypse (aka Dead Exchange) today enjoys a fun red band trailer that you can view at the bottom of the article. Declan Shrubb's film will be available on VOD and will also be released in the U.S. (currently on sale for Australia and New Zealand only) in DVD and Blu-ray formats this summer, on July 5, thanks to Lightyear Entertainment.
Actors Alex Williamson, Jim Jeffries and Greg Fleet play three telecommunications workers who get stuck in a telephone exchange right during a zombie apocalypse.
The cast also includes Adele Vuko, Andy Trieu, Matt Popp, Brendan Kelly, Naomi Turvey, Max Mackinnon, and Jackie Murra.
