Some new photos of [REC] 4: Apocalypse (Spain - 2014), the concluding chapter in the saga begun by Jaume Balagueró in 2007.
It was directed by Balagueró himself, who is also the author, among others, of [Rec]² and who in this fourth chapter also co-wrote the screenplay with Manu Díez, with whom he has collaborated before.
[REC] 4: Apocalypse ties in with the first two chapters of the saga by focusing on the protagonist played by original actress Manuela Velasco. Television journalist Ángela Vidal has survived the terrible events that occurred in the building but is captured and quarantined on a maximum security ship. Even here, however, the strange epidemic, probably triggered by the girl, will spread like wildfire among the military, generating chaos.
[REC] 4: Apocalypse was screened at the Midnight Madness Portion of the Toronto International Film Festival. The film was released in Spain on Oct. 31 while the U.S. release date is set for Jan. 2, 2015.
The cast includes Manuela Velasco (Rec, [Rec]²), María Alfonsa Rosso, Héctor Colomé, Paco Manzanedo, Ismael Fritschi, Críspulo Cabezas, Emilio Buale and Carlos Zabala. Production of the film was handled by Julio Fernández, mantre the music is by Arnau Bataller.
