Produced by Apocalypsis, which distributes it in collaboration with Paradise Pictures, Raging Rage - Er Canaro will debut in Italian cinemas on June 7. Trattasi del terzo lungometraggio diretto dal maestro degli effetti speciali Sergio Stivaletti che con questo film si distacca dall'horror (genere in cui rientrano i suoi precedenti film M.D.C. - Maschera di cera 1997 and The three faces of terror of 2004), to direct a hard-hitting noir thriller.
The story of Raging Rage - Er Canaro prende spunto da una pagina di cronaca nera romana affrontando l'omicidio di un ex pugile e criminale avvenuto negli anni '80 per mano di colui che venne poi chiamato “Er Canaro”. Quest'ultimo è interpretato da Riccardo De Filippis (serie TV Romanzo criminale) mentre troviamo Virgilio Olivari nel ruolo della vittima.
In addition to the aforementioned actors, the cast also includes Romina Mondello and Gianni Franco (both previously featured in M.D.C. - Wax Mask), John Lombardo Radice (Fear in the City of the Living Dead, Cannibal ferox, House of Flesh Mannequins), Rosario Petix and Romuald Klos.
The screenplay was written by Antonio Lusci, Antonio Tentori (A Cat in the Brain, Dracula 3D, Rimisherim) and Sergio Stivaletti himself.
Plot of Raging Rage - Er Canaro: Fabio has just served eight months in jail for a crime he committed instead Claudio, a former boxer friend of his, a thug who aspires to become the boss of Mandrione (a suburban Roman neighborhood). Claudio also runs various trades and is also involved in dogfighting, always turning to Fabio for dressings to be done to injured animals.
L’amicizia tra Claudio e Fabio è molto ambigua, quasi malata. Il primo, in particolare, ha una personalità bipolare che a volte lo porta ad agire con estrema cattiveria nei confronti dell'amico sottomesso. Un giorno però Fabio, stanco dei maltrattamenti subiti, deciderà di attuare la sua terribile vendetta.
Ricordiamo che Sergio Stivaletti è l'effettista di celebri film horror fra cui citiamo Dèmoni 2... L'incubo ritorna, Opera, The devil's mask (1990), The church, The sect, Cemetery Man, Il fantasma dell'Opera, Ghost Son and The third mother.
