Laura Vandervoort is the disfigured girl who appears in the poster of Rabid, il remake canadese dell’omonimo film horror diretto da David Cronenberg nel 1977. L'attrice interpreta Rose, una giovane donna che subisce una radicale trasformazione dopo aver optato per la chirurgia plastica a seguito di un incidente che le ha deturpato il viso.
Directing this remake are sisters Jen and Sylvia Soska, authors of American Mary, See No Evil 2 and Puppet Killer. The two also co-wrote the screenplay for the film with John Serge.
In the cast of Rabid, in addition to Laura Vandervoort (Saw: Legacy), there are also Ben Hollingsworth, Hanneke Talbot (Playing Dead), Mackenzie Gray (Legion), CM Punk and A.J. Mendez.
Rabid is produced by Back 40 Pictures and Telefilm Canada in collaboration with Ontario Media Development Corporation and Media Finance Capital. Co-produced are John Vidette (Somerville House Releasing), Paul Lalonde and Michael Walker (Cloud Ten Picturesh and Stoney Lake Entertainment).
Plot: Rose is a young woman who is horribly disfigured following a car accident. In order to regain her lost beauty, the girl will undergo an experimental treatment that will, however, transform her into a bloodthirsty monster, a being that will unleash a terrible pandemic.
