New news regarding the cult saga Puppet Master produced by Charles Band and his Full Moon Features. Yesterday, the American production company Di Bonaventura Pictures (1408), in collaboration with Caliber Media (Dark Was the Night, Some Kind of Hate, Bone Tomahawk), revealed that it plans to develop a new franchise about killer puppets namely the reboot of Puppet Master.
The idea is to create a new universe consisting of multiple stories and new characters. The first chapter already has a title viz. Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich. For now, only the name of the screenwriter, S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk), has been confirmed, while that of the director has not yet been announced. Zahler's film will have a completely new story in which the villainous puppets will act with brutality. Their terrible actions also will always be accompanied by a touch of comedy, just as in the old saga. It is not known, however, whether ancient Egyptian rituals will still animate the puppets.
Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich will be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Doom, Constantine, The Devil Inside) and Mark Vahradian (Di Bonaventura Pictures) along with Dallas Sonnier and Jack Heller (Caliber Media). Charles Band, on the other hand, will serve as executive producer.
Plot of Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich: A newly divorced man finds a doll in his dead brother's closet. The young man decides to sell the toy at a convention in Oregon celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Toulon murders. During the auction, however, all hell breaks loose when a mysterious force animates all the dolls at the event.
In this regard, we remind you that Puppet Master: Axis Termination is currently in pre-production. This is the 11th as well as the final chapter in the saga that began in 1989 with Puppet Master - The Puppeteer By David Schmoeller.
