Along with pre-orders for November's films (Carcinoma and Delirium), TetroVideo has launched a tasty promotion dedicated to cult films by Italian director Beppe Cino. This is about The Knight, Death and the Devil (1983) e The house of good return (1986), for the first time in physical format as a world exclusive TetroVideo.
In addition to the bookbox edition, the amaray edition is now also available. For a few days only, it will be possible to purchase a single film for 14.90 or both at 20 euros.
The Knight, Death and the Devil is a dreamlike film in the drama-thriller genre written and directed by Beppe Cino and is inspired by Double dream by Arthur Schnitzler, a short novel that Stanley Kubrick also drew on for his Eyes Wide Shut.
In 1983 The knight, death and the devil participated in the 40th Venice International Film Festival ("Venice De Sica" section) and was awarded the Cinema and Society Targa in Rome in 1985.
The film stars Paolo Bonacelli ("Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom" by Pier Paolo Pasolini), Mirella D'Angelo ("Tenebre" by Dario Argento) and Piero Vida ("La corta notte delle bambole di vetro" by Aldo Lado). The cast also includes Jeanne Mas, Lola Ledda, Danila Caccia, Mattia Machiavelli and Francesco Costa.
Plot: Monika and her daughter Lola meet by chance the mysterious Orlok, a man who leaves them shaken. In contrast, however, Nicholas, Lola's father, becomes fascinated by the punk Patty, and when he returns home to his family, the three fall into a dark and interminable nightmare.
Written and directed by Beppe Cino, the dramatic thriller The house of good return (aka The House of the Blue Shadows) participated in the Venice International Film Festival (section "Venezia De Sica") in 1986 while in 1987 the film won the "Best First Feature Award" at the FantaFestival at which the director received the award from the hands of the famous Christopher Lee.
Plot: Luca (Stefano Gabrini) goes to spend a few days in his childhood home with his bride-to-be Margit (Amanda Sandrelli). The stay in the old home, however, will awaken in the young man terrible memories of his past that will haunt him to tragic consequences.
The cast includes Stefano Gabrini, Amanda Sandrelli, Fiammetta Carena, Lola Ledda, Francesco Costa, Stanis Leda, Fabrizio Capuani, Eloisa Cino, Eleonora Salvadori and Elvira Castellano.
