PrometheusHYPOTHESIS - Many science fiction fans of old and new generation are following with interest the developments of Prometheus, the new film by Ridley Scott which, which began as a prequel to Alien, was then turned into something new and totally detached from the Ripley saga. However, about a month ago the director said:

"Although Alien was the starting point for this project, during the creative process we built a great new mythology and universe in which the story will take place. Keen fans will spot strips of Alien DNA, if we can call it that, but the ideas we will exploit in this film will be unique, big and provocative".

We asked ourselves then and ask ourselves again: what do you mean by Scott with "Alien DNA Strips"?
Someone just tried to respond. The English blog bleedingcool treats (albeit by leading with his hands and classifying the information as "rumor") a hypothesis that can justify every single aspect of the project, thanks to the statement of Scott on the desire to make a film set in another Universe (and, probably, another time) than that of Alien.
In a nutshell, the "contamination" between the two films is represented precisely by the presence of the aliens from Alien at Prometheus, but no one will be able to grasp this aspect immediately!
The alien life forms conceived by Scott have a special feature: after growing in a host organism, they take on some of its characteristics by modifying their DNA. The "standard appearances" of the "aliens" we are used to seeing would result precisely from the fusion of their DNA with human DNA, right? So, if "aliens" grew into other extraterrestrial organisms unknown to us, what would result? Simply, something that would not look familiar to us at all!
There you have it, now try to reconnect this talk with everything we know about Prometheus And, voila, a complete picture! We await new anticipations from Scott able to confirm or disprove this theory.
Prometheus will be released in U.S. theaters on March 9, 2012.
