The film's protagonist is Ruth, an expectant woman (played by Lowe herself) who, guided by the voice of the child she is carrying, commits heinous crimes in revenge for the death of her fiancé. The victims designated by the baby and whom she holds responsible for the father's death will be many and will be exterminated in the most diverse ways.
In Prevents The screenplay was also written by Alice Lowe, who directs and stars in the film during her actual pregnancy.
In addition to Alice Lowe, the cast includes Kate Dickie (The Witch), Gemma Whelan (The Wolfman), Jo Hartley, Tom Davis, and Kayvan Novak.
