Koch Media distributes in Italy Turbo Kid (New Zealand, Canada - 2015), the extraordinary film written and directed by the filmmaking trio of François Simard, Anouk Whissell and Yoann-Karl Whissell. Available May 17 in DVD and Blu-Ray formats, Turbo Kid is a crazy film, a contamination of multiple genres and, precisely, a post-apocalyptic comedy that blurs into action and splatter and pays homage to 80s cinema.
Plot: In a post-apocalyptic future parallel to the year 1997, an orphan boy (Munro Chambers) named "The Kid" reaches Wasteland to search for relics of a better world now lost. During one of his expeditions he meets the mysterious and sympathetic Apple (Laurence LeBoeuf), with whom he becomes deeply attached. When the evil Zeus (Michael Ironside), lord of Wasteland and master of the water, kidnaps the girl, The Kid must ally himself with Frederic (Aaron Jeffery), leader of a dangerous clan, to try to save his friend and to confront Zeus, taking revenge for a past wrong.
Turbo Kid boasts, in the cast, Michael Ironside (Starship Troopers, Scanners). In addition to him are Munro Chambers (Cracked), Laurence Leboeuf, Aaron Jeffery (X-Men Origins), Edwin Wright (Top of the Lake) and Romano Orzari. They are also joined by the three directors-François Simard, Anouk Whissell, and Yoann-Karl Whissell.
