Poor Things: Yorgos Lanthimos' horror film starring Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe

Poor Things is the title of the new film by Yorgos Lanthimos, the director of The Lobster and The sacrifice of the sacred deer.
This is a horror film starring Emma Stone (Welcome to Zombieland), Mark Ruffalo (Avengers:Infinity War) and Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse) and whose release date has not yet been announced.
In recent hours, however, the MPAA has rated the film "Rated-R" for strong and pervasive sexual content, graphic nudity, disturbing material, blood, violence and foul language.

The film is produced by Searchlight and is the film adaptation of the novel of the same name written in 1992 by British writer Alasdair Gray.
Set in the Victorian era, the story focuses on horror but also on love and scientific discovery, recalling Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Poor Things in fact features Belle Baxter (Emma Stone), a young woman brought back to life by an eccentric yet brilliant scientist.

The cast also includes Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood) and Christopher Abbott (It Comes at Night).
The screenplay, on the other hand, is by Tony McNamara.
