About a year and a half ago, there had been talk of a remake of Poltergeist (1982) by Tobe Hooper and now for a few days now the trailer and poster of the remake directed by Gil Kenan, who with this film tries his hand at horror cinema for the first time. The screenplay, on the other hand, is by David Lindsay-Abaire and the cast boasts famous names such as Sam Rockwell, Jared Harris, Rosemarie DeWitt and joined by those of Saxon Sharbino, Kennedi Clements, Kyle Catlett and Jane Adams.
The plot is almost the same as in Hooper's film. In fact, the story focuses on the Bowen family moving into a new home. The new home, however, is haunted by evil forces that slowly begin to manifest themselves, coming to kidnap Madison, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bowen. The little girl's terrified parents will desperately try to bring her back before the child disappears forever.
A interpretare l'iconico ruolo di Carol Ann Freeling, che nel film del 1982 era stato affidato alla piccola e sfortunata Heather O’Rourke, è Kennedi Clements.
