After months of silence, we are back to talking about Planet of the Dead, the sequel to the zombie movie Army of the Dead (2021).
Zack Snyder is currently writing the screenplay for. Planet of the Dead together with Shay Hatten and will be in charge of the project after completing Rebel Moon, a sci-fi film that in turn could spawn a saga and spin-off series.
In a recent interview with The Nerd Queens, director Zack Snyder wanted to shed light on the development of the zombie movie that will be made exclusively for Netflix, explaining that everything will depend on his Rebel Moon.
“The universe of Army of the Dead is still alive and well in my mind and I know exactly how to develop it. It all depends on how we proceed with Rebel Moon... It is no small undertaking, but it is a large-scale science fiction fictional universe and requires a lot of attention to make sense of it all“.
We remember you that Army of the Dead is played by Dave Bautista and tells of a group of mercenaries, hired by the owner of a casino in Las Vegas, who enter the undead-infested quarantine zone to recover $200 million buried in the gambling house vault. This, before the Nevada city is neutralized by a government nuclear attack.
With the clock ticking, the underground room armored, and a horde of intelligent and hungry zombies on their tail, it will not be easy for the mercenaries to complete the mission.
