Devoted mainly to extreme metal, heavy rock and soundtracks, the young Italian label Spikerot Record announced its upcoming releases including those pertaining to the soundtrack of two horror films.
These include in fact the soundtrack of Philosophy of a Knife (2008), the disturbing extreme film by visionary Russian director Andrey Iskanov and which will be available for the first time on vinyl from November 23, 2018 (pre-order link).
Of the duration of more than 4 hours, Philosophy of a Knife blends Iskanov's artistic and deviant staging with archival material concerning the torture and experiments inflicted by the Japanese Unit 731 (group operating from 1936 to 1945) on Chinese prisoners.

The soundtrack is by electronic composer Alexander Shevchenko.
The next release from the Spikerot Record will instead be a tribute to Italy. Indeed, the label is proud to present, for the first time on vinyl, the soundtrack to the The Vampires (1957), the film considered the first horror film in Italian cinematography. Directed by Riccardo Freda, The Vampires features Mario Bava as director of photography.
The pre-order of The Vampires will start at 7:00 p.m. on October 22.
Composed by Maestro Roman Vlad, the soundtrack blends perfectly with the atmosphere of this film for a dark and gothic journey.
