In the new image of Pet Sematary John Lithgow appears as Jud Crandall, a role played by Fred Gwynne in the 1989 film. Directed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer (the directors of Starry Eyes), Pet Sematary is the new film adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name.
Pet Sematary will debut in U.S. theaters on April 5, 2019, while an official date has not yet been announced for the Italian market.

The protagonist of the story is Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke) who, after moving from Boston to a small town in Maine with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and two young children Ellie (Jeté Laurence) and Gage (Hugo and Lucas Lavoie), discovers the existence of a mysterious animal cemetery near his home. After a tragedy, the family man befriends his strange neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), and shortly thereafter a series of disturbing and tragic events occur.

The cast includes Jason Clarke (The Widow Winchester), Amy Seimetz (Alien: Covenant, The Killing, Stranger Things), John Lithgow (Twilight Zone, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Interstellar), Jeté Laurence, Hugo Lavoie, and Lucas Lavoie.
The screenplay, on the other hand, is by Jeff Buhler and David Kajganich.
