Paramount+ has released, online, some images and the official poster of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, the newest chapter in the saga and featuring newcomer Lindsey Beer in the director's booth.
Pet Sematary: Bloodlines is the prequel to Pet Sematary - 2019 (directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer), a film adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name and which has already been transposed to film by Mary Lambert with Living cemetery (1989).
The film will be available for streaming from October 6.
Set in 1969, the story features a young Jud Crandall who dreams of leaving his hometown behind. Soon, however, he discovers terrible buried secrets that will force him to confront a dark family history that will keep him forever bound to the place where he lived.
In the cast of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines appear John W. Lawson (American Horror Story), Jackson White (Mrs. Fletcher), Forrest Goodluck (Revenant - Redivivo), Jack Mulhern (Murder in Easttown), Natalie Alyn Lind (Mockingbird - Live from Hell), Isabella LaBlanc, Pam Grier (Women in Chains, Ghosts from Mars), Henry Thomas (E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial, Ouija: The Origin of Evil) and Samantha Mathis (American Psycho).
The screenplay is by Lindsey Beer while Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian appear in the film's production.
Plot of the novel: Louis Creed is a Chicago physician who moves to the small town of Ludlow, Maine, with his wife Rachel and their children Ellie and Cage. Their home, however, is located near an animal cemetery, a place where buried creatures come back to life.
