Pet Sematary: John W. Lawson also in the cast of the prequel

According to reports from Variety, producer and actor John W. Lawson (American Horror Story) has joined the cast of Pet Sematary (2021), the new installment of the franchise to be developed exclusively for Paramount+.
In addition to being an actor and producer, John W. Lawson has been an advocate for disability rights since he lost his hands at the age of 30.
In the prequel to Pet Sematary, his character lacks upper limbs and was rewritten specifically for the actor who, speaking to Variety said he uses myoelectric hands but prefers transradial (hooked) prosthesis.

Written and directed by newcomer Lindsey Beer, this new chapter is related to Pet Sematary - 2019 (directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer), the recent film adaptation of the 1983 novel of the same name written by Stephen King and previously transposed to film by Mary Lambert with Living cemetery (1989).
The project still lacks an official title, and filming will begin in August.

Already confirmed in the cast are Jackson White (Mrs. Fletcher), Forrest Goodluck (Revenant - Survivor), Jack Mulhern (Murder in Easttown), Natalie Alyn Lind (Mockingbird - Live from Hell), Isabella LaBlanc, Pam Grier (Women in Chains, Ghosts from Mars), Henry Thomas (E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial, Ouija: The Origin of Evil) and Samantha Mathis (American Psycho).
Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian instead appear in the production of the film.

Plot of the novel: Louis Creed is a Chicago physician who moves to the small town of Ludlow, Maine, with his wife Rachel and their children Ellie and Cage. Their home, however, is located near an animal cemetery, a place where buried creatures come back to life.
