While waiting for the trailer to arrive tomorrow, A24 has released, online, the official poster of Pearl, the top-secret prequel to the horror slasher X - A Sexy Horror Story (2022).
Shot in great secrecy in New Zealand shortly after X, Pearl again features Ti West (The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers), who co-directed the script with Mia Goth (Marrowbone, Suspiria).

In the prequel, however, Mia Goth plays a young Pearl. alongside her are also David Corenswet, Tandi Wright, Matthew Sunderland and Emma Jenkins-Purro.
Set during World War I in 1918, Ti West's new film explores the origins of Pearl. The events take place before X - A Sexy Horror Story and explore how the chalet, the site of the massacre, was once used as a boarding house during the war.
Ti West himself stated. Pearl is stylistically very different from X and which is influenced by other cult films of the past. Last March, the director revealed that he is working on the script for a third installment that will be set chronologically after the events of X, thus realizing a true trilogy.
