PREQUEL FOOTAGE - As of today, Tuesday, February 15, 2011, it is possible to rent Paranormal Activity 2, a prequel to the controversial Paranormal Activity which, like its predecessor, adopts the "found footage" ("found video") gimmick launched by The Blair Witch Project and carried out by Rec, Cloverfield, Quarantine, The Chronicles of the Living Dead and so on.
After suffering what apparently appears to be an attempted theft, Kristi (Sprague Grayden) and Dan Rey (Brian Boland) decide to install a network of video cameras in the house so that they can continuously monitor and record everything that happens in each room. But it will not be easy to give a logical and rational explanation for what will befall them and their children, including the tiny Hunter.
In addition to the already mentioned and Molly Ephraim as Ali Rey, in the cast of Paranormal Activity 2 we also find Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat, the protagonists of the first episode.
The only extra content on the DVD and Blu-Ray of. Paranormal Activity 2 is the ability to follow the film in both its original and extended versions. When the film debuted on the big screen in late October 2010, it set a couple of American records:
- Highest gross in cinema history from a single screening of an R-rated film ($6.3 million)
- Best debut for a horror film released in the U.S. ($41.5 million grossed in the weekend of Friday, Oct. 22 to Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010)
