On the occasion of its world premiere on March 22 at the 2017 Canadian Film Fest, the first teaser trailer of The Heretics (Canada - 2017), the new horror film (dealing with a story related to paganism) directed by Chad Archibald, the director of the recent Bite and The Drownsman.
The Heretics is produced by director Cody Calahan (Antisocial, Let Her Out) along with Chad Archibald. The two are the founders of the Black Fawn Films label.
In The Heretics a girl is kidnapped by a man who claims to be trying to protect her, until dawn, from a cult that is hunting her. During the hours with her captor, however, the young woman becomes seriously ill, and as time passes, the source of her illness becomes more and more apparent. She is not dying but mutating....
The screenplay is by Jayme Laforest. The cast includes Nina Kiri, Jorja Cadence, Ry Barrett, Nina Richmond, Will King, Caleigh Le Grand, Rachel Sellan, Austin Duffy and Sid McMillan.
