Outcast is the title of the new horror TV series produced by Fox International Studios, which will be broadcast in Italy from June 6, 2016 su Fox mentre in America dal 3 giugno su Cinemax. Negli Stati Uniti, la scelta di questo canale è guidata dalla necessità di impedire la censura (probabile su altri canali) al fine di godere di una storia lineare senza troncature e con le giuste scene di violenza e di sesso. Tuttavia è stato confermato che non ci saranno censure nemmeno negli altri Paesi, compresa l'Italia.
As The Walking Dead, also Outcast is based on the original comic book created by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Paul Azaceta. The first season of Outcast, which has already been renewed for a second season, consists of 10 episodes. The series is set in Rome, a fictional town, where the lives of the protagonists are shaken by supernatural events. Adam Winger directs the pilot.
Below is a presentation of some of the main characters and the names of the actors who play them:
- The protagonist of the series is Kyle Barnes (interpretato da Patrick Fugit), un personaggio da sempre immerso in esperienze sovrannaturali e che vive da emarginato per cercare di scacciare l'oscurità che lo tormenta. Di fronte alle possesioni si interrogherà sul motivo per cui accadono.
- The Reverend Anderson è interpretato da Philip Glenister. E' un uomo che agisce per volere di Dio e che cerca di scacciare il male che lo circonda e anche quello che lo invade. E' un personaggio molto oscuro anche perché avrà a che fare con demoni, possessioni ed esorcismi.
- Wrenn Schmidt is Megan Holter, Kyle's sweet half-sister. She tries everything she can to help her brother overcome his fears and live peacefully.
- Reg E. Cathey plays the Chief of Police of Rome. This role is not very important in the comic, but it will play a major part in the series. The terrible situations the policeman will have to face will lead him to have doubts about his job and the task he has to perform in the city.
