Orozco: cult shockumentary about embalming arrives in Italy

TetroVideo has announced the release of Orozco - The Embalmer (Japan - 2001), the shockumentary written and directed by Kiyotaka Tsurisaki (Junk Films, The Wasteland), a former director of X-rated films who in 1994 decided to specialize in photography, choosing the theme of death. A passion, this one, that drove him to different countries around the world to take pictures of dead bodies.
This is a world movie that deals very coolly and without taboos with the conservative treatment of human bodies.
Orozco - The Embalmer will be released in the Bookbox edition (DVD + poster) soon.

orozco-1Known as "the photographer of death," Kiyotaka Tsurisaki dedicated this documentary genre film to Colombian embalmer Froilan Orozco, foregrounding his hard work in one of Colombia's poorest and most infamous areas-Bogota.
The main character, Froilan Orozco, died during the production of the film.
In Orozco - The Embalmer Kiyotaka Tsurisaki's camera thus lingers on open corpses, emptied of organs and bodily fluids and then filled with old rags before being washed, stitched up, clothed, made up (tanotoesthetics) and laid in coffins.
