Official trailer for Open Windows, the thriller by Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, "A Is for Apocalypse" in The ABCs of Death) starring Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey. The date for video on demand and distribution in American cinemas of Open Windows is set for October 2. In Italy, however, it will be released in theaters starting November 7.
In Open Windows Sasha Grey plays the famous actress Jill Goddard, who refuses to go out with Nick (Elijah Wood), even though the young man has won an online contest organized by the distributors of the girl's latest film, thus breaking the rules. Chord, a masked man who claims to be Jill's manager, offers Nick the chance to spy on her via webcam. The young man initially refuses but then accepts, unaware that he has been drawn into a dangerous game run by a maniac.
As suggested by the trailer, the story unfolds through Nick's desktop computer and the various “open windows” that give the film its title.
In addition to Sasha Grey (Would You Rather) and Elijah Wood (Maniac), there are Neil Maskel (in the role of Chord), Iván González, Trevante Rhodes, and the director himself (Nacho Vigalondo), who also wrote the screenplay together with Daniel Mas.
Open Windows (Spain, USA – 2014) is one of the films selected for the 20th edition of L’Étrange Festival, which will be held from September 4 to 14, 2014.
