Ahead of the US release of The First Omen , 20th Century Studios has released the trailer and 70s-style poster for the film.
The First Omen is expected in U.S. theaters on April 5, one day after the Italian release.
Directed by Arkasha Stevenson (Legion), the film is a prequel to the The Omen (aka The Omen), a 1976 horror classic about the Antichrist, directed by Richard Donner.
The cast includes Bill Nighy (Underworld), Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Ralph Ineson (The Witch), Nell Tiger Free (Servant), Andrea Arcangeli (Like sheep among wolves), Anton Alexander, Mia McGovern Zaini and Maria Caballero
Plot: A young American woman is sent to Rome to serve the church. Once there, the nun will encounter evil that will cause her to question her own faith when she discovers that a terrifying conspiracy hopes for the birth of the Antichrist.
The story of The First Omen is by Ben Jacoby (Bleed) while the screenplay is by Tim Smith, Arkasha Stevenson and Keith Thomas (Firestarter).
Instead, the producers are David S. Goyer (Hellraiser) and Keith Levine (The Night House).
The Omen (1976) has had three sequels and a remake: Damien: Omen II(1978), Omen III: The Final Conflict(1981) and Omen IV: The Awakening (1991 TV movie).
The remake instead, The Omen, is from 2006.
