During the month of October 2016, two horror films will be shown in Italian cinemas namely. Pay The Ghost and Ouija: L'origine del Male. The former is a perfect film for Halloween as it uses a story that takes place during the night of October 31. The theatrical release date is set for the October 20.

Pay the Ghost è distribuito da Barter Entertainment ed è il primo thriller-horror sovrannaturale diretto dal tedesco Udi Edel, il regista dell'indimenticabile Christiane F. - We the boys in the Berlin Zoo. La sceneggiatura del film invece è a firma di Daniel Kay. Protagonista della storia, liberamente ispirata all'omonimo racconto di Tim Lebbon (30 Days of Night) and Celtic mythology, is Oscar winner Nicolas Cage, here playing a father whose son is kidnapped right during the traditional Halloween parade in New York City.
Trama: a Mike è stato sottratto il figlio Charlie proprio sotto il naso, durante la festa del 31 ottobre. Un anno dopo, l'uomo inizia ad essere ossessionato da terrificanti visioni e dalla presenza di una figura sinistra. Insieme alla moglie Kristen (Sarah Wayne Callies), Mike decide di mettersi alla disperata ricerca del bambino. Ciò che scopriranno però sarà una verità agghiacciante: ogni anno, un fantasma vendicativo appare durante la festa di Halloween per rapire i più piccoli. I due coniugi faranno di tutto per salvare Charlie entro la mezzanotte, affinché il suo spirito non venga perduto per sempre.

Ouija: The Origin of Evil (aka Ouija: Origin of Evil) is a film directed by Mike Flanagan, the director of Oculus, Dementia and Hush. It is a sequel to Stiles White's Ouija (2014) and will be distributed in Italy through Universal.
Trama: Los Angeles, 1965. Alice (Elizabeth Reaser) è una vedova che, per crescere le due figlie, l’adolescente Lina (Annalise Basso) e la piccola Doris (Lulu Wilson), svolge l'attività di medium frodando i suoi clienti. Per incrementare i guadagni, la donna acquista una tavola Ouija da utilizzare durante le sue sedute. Il suo uso però comporterà accidentalmente l’evocazione di uno spirito maligno che prenderà di mira la piccola di casa.
