The official teaser trailer and poster for Obitus are now online. Directed by Azerbaijani filmmaker Rec Revan and written by Cahangir Suleymanov, the upcoming feature blends survival horror and body horror with a deadly parasitic outbreak.
Produced by Recfilms, Obitus runs 105 minutes and was shot in the Turkish language. The film is currently in the final stages of post-production and is scheduled to hit theaters in Azerbaijan on November 19, 2026.
Set within an isolated community devastated by a natural disaster, Obitus explores survival, family, and the physical consequences of a parasite spreading among those left behind.
Plot: After a devastating natural disaster leaves a remote village cut off from the outside world, Damien and his daughter Luna are separated amid the chaos and struggle to survive long enough to find each other. As escape routes collapse, a parasitic infection begins spreading through the community, attacking the human body from within. With the outbreak taking hold, it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish the survivors from those already affected.
Obitus was presented at the Marché du Film in Cannes in 2026. Revan Jabbarov is an Azerbaijani director, producer, and founder of Recfilms whose previous directing credits include Without Shadow (2012), Devil's Side (2014), and Aporia (2019).
