November 2022: horror movies in theaters

Questo mese, nella programmazione dei film al cinema rientrano l'horror italiano It's raining (November 10), cannibal-themed horror films The Menu (November 17) and Bones and All (23 novembre), e l'horror esorcistico The Devil's Eyes (November 24).

10 novembre: "Piove" di Paolo Strippoli

Prodotto da Propaganda Italia in coproduzione con GapBusters e distribuito da Fandango, l'horror It's raining (2022) is directed by Paolo Strippoli, an Italian director who, together with Roberto De Feo, directed A Classic Horror Story (2021).
It's raining will debut in Italian theaters on November 10.
The story sheds light on a dangerous Rome, the scene of inexplicable events triggered by rain. When it rains, pipes and manholes emit a strange vapor whose origin is unknown but which triggers anger in those who inhale it.
Even the Morel family, already marked by a serious bereavement, will be carried away by resentment, imprisoned in a gloomy and nervous Rome, on the verge of exploding...
The cast includes Fabrizio Rongione, Cristiana Dell'Anna, Francesco Gheghi, Aurora Menenti, Leon De La Vallée, Ondina Quadri, Orso Maria Guerrini, Andrea Ottavi, Francesco Russo, and Daniele Mariani.
The screenplay is by Paolo Strippoli himself in collaboration with Jacopo Del Giudice and Gustavo Hernández (Dios Local).

17 novembre: "The Menu" di Mark Mylod

On November 17, it arrives in theaters The Menu, a cannibal-themed “culinary” horror film distributed by The Walt Disney Company Italia.
Written by Seth Reiss and Will Tracy, The Menu is directed by Mark Mylod (The Big White, The Throne of Swords) and stars Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, The Northman) and Ralph Fiennes (Spider), here as the client and a particular chef, respectively.
The story follows Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Tyler (Nicholas Hoult), a couple who travel to a coastal island to dine at an exclusive restaurant where the chef (Ralph Fiennes) has prepared a sumptuous menu with some shocking and disturbing surprises.
In addition to the two aforementioned actors, the cast also includes Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road), John Leguizamo (The Day After Tomorrow, John Wick), Janet McTeer, Judith Light, Reed Birney, Paul Adelstein, Aimee Carrero, and Arturo Castro.

23 novembre: "Bones and All" di Luca Guadagnino

Directed by Luca Guadagnino (Suspiria – 2018), Bones and All (Italy, USA – 2022) stars Timothée Chalamet (Don't Look Up), here in the role of a cannibal.
Presented as a "horror love story." Bones and All è la trasposizione cinematografica dell’omonimo romanzo a tema cannibalico "Fino all'osso" di Camille DeAngelis e debutterà nelle sale italiane il 23 novembre.
The story sheds light on a first love, that between Lee (Timothée Chalamet) and Maren (Taylor Russell), two star-crossed lovers living on the fringes of society, perpetually on the run from everyone and themselves. No matter how hard the two try, any road seems to lead them back to their terrible past, until the decisive moment that will determine whether the feeling that binds them can survive their diversity and the world around them.
The cast also includes Taylor Russell (Escape Room), Chloë Sevigny (The Dead Don't Die), Jessica Harper (Suspiria – 1977), André Holland, Mark Rylance, Michael Stuhlbarg (The Shape of Water), David Gordon-Green (director of the Halloween saga – 2018) and Francesca Scorsese (Wolf at the Door).
The script, on the other hand, is by David Kajganich, the screenwriter of Suspiria (2018).

24 novembre: "Gli occhi del Diavolo" di Daniel Stamm

Distributed by Eagle Pictures, The Devil's Eyes (USA – 2022) will be released in Italian cinemas on November 24. It is a horror film about demonic possession, directed by Daniel Stamm (13 Sins, The Last Exorcism).
Plot: Given the numerous cases of demonic possession that have increased in recent years, the Catholic Church has reopened exorcism schools to prepare priests to confront evil. In one of these schools, young Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers) strongly believes that performing exorcisms is her calling, even though only priests are authorized to perform them. One of the professors recognizes the nun's special gift and allows her to be the first nun to study and assist in the ritual.
After looking into the Devil's eyes, Sister Ann will realize that her soul and her very life are in grave danger as the demonic forces she fights are mysteriously connected to her past.
The Devil's Eyes is played by Jacqueline Byers, Colin Salmon, Christian Navarro, Lisa Palfrey, Nicholas Ralph, Ben Cross, Virginia Madsen, and Tom Forbes.
