COMPOSER AND ACTOR - After winning a Oscar in the Best Soundtrack category for The Social Network, the leader of the industrial metal band Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor has been cast to compose the soundtrack for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, pseudo-biopic horror film dedicated to the American president. Abraham Lincoln based on the novel of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith. It seems, however, that there is more to it.
According to some rumors (thus all to be confirmed or denied), the musician may make his debut as an actor by playing a small part in the film set to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov. Let us now open a small parenthesis by reviewing the plot of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The film will tell the "true story" of Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States in the eyes of the community and cold vampire hunter in private life. It all begins when, at only nine years old, Abraham witnesses the death of his mother at the hands of a vampire. Driven by the spirit of revenge, the young man is trained by a mysterious figure in the art of combat, "vampire hunting" and axe throwing, soon launching a spirited career as a vigilante. In this context (and again according to rumors), Reznor could fill the role of the vampire who killed young Lincoln's mother!
For now, in the cast of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter are confirmed Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper and Jimmi Simpson. Stereoscopic filming is expected to start by the end of March, while the film is scheduled for release in North America on June 22, 2012.
