nightmare-new-nightmareThe whole Nightmare series was simply a movie, and Craven is filming the seventh installment of the series, when the monster bursts into the reality of the protagonists involved in the productions of the previous films!!! Heather is haunted by distressing phone calls, while Craven (playing himself) is pelted with nightmares. A story within a story, Freddy's curse affects all the actors (Englund included) until the "mythical" Heather Langekamp decides to stand up to it and confronts Krueger.

Wes Craven is back!!! Freddy has stopped joking and is back in earnest; in fact, this installment of the saga returns to the glories of the first unmatched Nightmare. The humor that had sold out the devilish figure of the monster with claws gives way to his murderous obsession; the film, in fact, is not dedicated to teenagers but to a more adult audience.
Loving the gimmick of depicting moments from the actors' private lives (the intimidating phone calls to Langekamp are taken from a real-life episode), the viewer is left intrigued and drawn in by a plot that is finally compelling and convincing, with doses of healthy dread that recall the first installment of the series.
Without a shadow of a doubt the best sequel (perhaps the only one to be truly considered) "of Nightmare on Elm Street."
