Directed by Marielle Heller (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood) and starring Amy Adams (Big Eyes, Nocturnal Animals), the horror film about motherhood Nightbitch will debut in U.S. theaters on Dec. 6. Produced by Searchlight Pictures, Nightbitch is the film adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Rachel Yoder in 2021 and has been officially rated Rated R for "language and sexual content."
The story of Nightbitch focuses on the tale of a stay-at-home mother who struggles to raise her child alone. Her sense of isolation during motherhood will intensify, plunging her into loneliness and then into exhaustion until she loses her humanity.
In Nightbitch, Marielle Heller also handled the script together with the author of the novel.
In addition to Amy Adams, the cast includes Scoot McNairy, Mary Holland, Kerry O'Malley, Ella Thomas, and Roslyn Gentle.
